"Thank you for sharing this beautiful part of the country with us. After a long couple of days (drove from Adelaide with a stopover in Bathurst) we arrived on a wet afternoon, and were so excited that our haven for the next couple of days was just spectacular! Having our BBQ and apple pie waiting for us was just ingenious! We had a lovely few days discovering the area, the wineries, gardens and cheese shops but we couldn’t wait to get back to our retreat towards the end of each day. The two little wrens were beautiful to watch and we even saw the wombat. We are both fully rested and relaxed and now push on to a couple of days in Sydney before the trip back to Adelaide. Next time we’ll skip Sydney and have a longer stay at ‘Somewhere Unique’!"

"This has been a wonderful way to spend our 10 year wedding anniversary weekend. All the little things you have put into Somewhere Unique are fabulous. Your information folder was so detailed it was incredible, making decisions easier. Panino’s is spectacular and Bruno just gorgeous - we have enjoyed much of his food and hospitality and wish we could “pop-up” for dinner - bit far from Sydney. My husband booked this as a surprise destination. He has greatly enjoyed dropping the phrase “we are going somewhere unique” - very funny when we drive up the driveway! Thank you again."

"I thought reading all the positive feedback from past guests in your website was a big mistake ... it raised our expectations of the place, However, your retreat truly didn’t disappoint, it met all our expectations and more! What a fantastic hideaway!! We opted to stay in on our first full day which says a lot for the place. First thing John did when we arrived was hop into that huge bath!! Seeing him enjoy the twilight with a book and a glass of wine, Tony Bennett crooning in the background was magic! It was his birthday present after all!! Everything about your place was perfect ... the music, DVD choices, the amenities were great, the breakfast hamper, the bacon grilled on the BBQ was awesome! Love the colour scheme, truly matches the eco-friendliness of the place. It was a truly magical 2 days here ... waking up to the sound of nature, the chirping of the birds is a welcome change for us city-dwellers ... Thanks."

"Thank you, we had a lovely stay and a great escape from the rat race. The inclusions in our package were fantastic and much appreciated. After all, we are on holidays and it was great not having to think of anything for ourselves. I think we’ve both put on a number of kilos - the BBQ package was plenty and breakfast lasted us 3 mornings. We had a MASSIVE lunch with the Tatlers voucher and supplemented our calorie intake with Hunter Valley chocolates. I think we will need to jog back to Brisbane!!! Thanks again."

"Thanks for your excellent service from start to finish. Stepping through the door we had to think pretty hard about going out wine-tasting as planned, or to stay here luxuriating in this truly beautiful retreat. What a buzz to be collected from the bottom of the driveway by helicopter! We loved the family of ‘laughing wrens’ who’d look in on us in the mornings (and check back in during the day). We biked along the gravel road to kangaroo spot. Not only did we see kangaroos, we disturbed a bright orange fox sleeping in the grass! Thank you again. We have had a truly grand and relaxing time here in Allawah."

"It’s nice to know you can travel less than two hours from Sydney and find yourself in another world. A world (thanks to Somewhere Unique) of luxury. We ate too much, we drank too much, and we slept too much. Luckily we balanced all the gluttony a little by breathing in the fresh country air, cycling on the quiet roads, and drinking that magnificent rainwater. No wombat sightings for us, but we did have a few birds that kept us company. You have covered everything here at Somewhere Unique; the bed is fantastic, the bathroom spacious, and all the little treats and breakfast pack are excellent. We couldn’t have asked for anything more than another week to stay here!"

"I have read the word “exceptional” so many times in the descriptions of your retreats and I really didn’t want to use it again, but I’m struggling to find a better word! Somewhere Unique has lived up to all of our expectations, plus more. It truly is “Somewhere Unique”. Like many of your other guests, we came to Somewhere Unique for a weekend of luxury and self-indulgence and we weren’t disappointed. The highlight of my weekend however, was a marriage proposal on the decking after getting back from a superb dinner at Margan. Of course I said YES! (even in the 2 degree temperature through chattering teeth!) Thank you for creating a memorable location for a truly memorable weekend!"

"All I knew of Somewhere Unique was a bathtub big enough for 2 and I said, get me there! Everything else was a wonderful surprise. The “winter romance package” just improved on perfection. Usually to be this in touch with nature involves camping, but your design leaves you feeling completely immersed in wildlife while being enveloped in comfort. Pristine, Stylish, Welcoming, and with every home comfort you could ever need or want. Although I could stay forever our 2 year old girl is luring us back to Sydney ..... We only had 48 hours but I feel as relaxed as I could possibly be."
