Sculpture in the Vineyards’, is back for its 16th year, from 2nd to 18th November 2018!

Now a firm fixture on the ‘Destination NSW’ calendar of events, the exhibition features creative works by some of Australia’s leading sculptors, and has attracted the attention of international artists eager to exhibit in this unique location.

‘Sculpture in the Vineyards’ was first presented in 2002 as a free contemporary outdoor sculpture exhibition with artwork created by talented Australian artists.

The event has evolved into a genuine celebration of art, food and wine. It now includes guided sculpture, wine, and local Aboriginal history tours, as well as tailored educational tours and workshops for groups of all sizes.

This is a great year to experience this event and to see why so many people are talking about this glorious ferment of art and wine! Visitors to the exhibition can  wander through the beautiful Wollombi Valley landscape and sample premium wines and local produce as well as experience a bespoke range of public programs for children and families, wine and art lovers or lovers in general.

‘Sculpture in the Vineyards’ is presented by ‘Stonehurst Cedar Creek Wines‘, ‘Undercliff Winery‘, and ‘Noyce Brothers Wines‘ with the support of two flagship community organisations representing local business and community: the Wollombi Valley Chamber of Commerce; and the Wollombi Valley Progress Association.

Entry to the outdoor exhibition is free and you’ll be surprised and delighted by the variety of creative approaches and innovative materials used in the artworks set within the Wollombi Valley’s uniquely picturesque surroundings. This year the event will be held across three out of the five vineyards in Wollombi Valley and locations around the historic village. Bring the family and relax in nature amongst the sculpture. Take in the true Hunter Valley experience over a glass of wine at our cosy cellar doors before retiring to ‘Somewhere Unique‘ for a quiet evening of starry skies and the gentle sounds of frogs and night birds calling.

The Exhibition Opening Night will be held on Saturday 3rd November 2018 at ‘Stonehurst Cedar Creek Winery’. An Indoor Sculpture Exhibition will display at the ‘Fire Shed Gallery‘ in the Wollombi Main Street, open Saturdays and Sundays from 3rd to 18th November 2018. And a ‘Valley Artists’ production of the play, “The Sculpture Garden’ will run on the evenings of 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16 and 17th November 2018.

Get involved in all these events and enjoy the arts amid the beauty and history of Wollombi!
