Well not quite yet. Everywhere is looking so green and lush in the valley and the wildlife are certainly enjoying the abundance of food around. The kangaroos and cattle graze quietly side by side in the paddocks as the early morning mist rises gradually to reveal blue sky days. This wet period won’t last for long and soon the humidity will disappear and crisp autumn mornings will be a delight as we walk our dogs in the morning.
The mill pond is up, as they say, “good weather for ducks”, and there are new families of wildfowl ducking and diving for food as we pass. The bottle brush are on their second flowering as are the gorgeous roses in the garden. Little blue fairy wrens are still contemplating themselves in our windows, and the beautiful red finches enjoying a communal bath in the bird bath.
We invite you to enjoy this part of the Wollombi Valley with us. Why not book a weekend or mid-week autumn/winter escape. Take a ride on our new bikes into the village, or further along Narone Creek Road, cosy up by the fire whilst reading your favourite book. Take time to breathe and relax.
